A Community Built Around Stories: Five Years of Literary Aviatrix

As we celebrate five years of reading, conversation, and connection, I invited everyone who has been part of this journey to reflect on what the community has meant to them.
What follows is a testament to the power of shared storytelling, mutual support, and the visibility of women’s aviation stories. These reflections belong to the community that made them possible. I am grateful to all who have trusted and supported me as I’ve dedicated the past five years to this community. I’m committed to fostering collaboration and lifting and amplifying our collective narrative. Thank you to the authors, readers, book club participants and listeners for your support.

“Congratulations on celebrating five years of Literary Aviatrix and to Liz Booker who has inspired so many with not only her achievements but in supporting women through her dedication and inspiration in the field of Aviation helping to pave the way for future generations.
I am so grateful for the sense of community and camaraderie that I found in the book club and for the incredible impact it has had on my life. Under Liz’s exceptional leadership, this community has not only inspired me but also connected me with remarkable women who share a passion for flight.
As we celebrate the anniversary, I’d like to acknowledge the profound difference this book club has made. Liz’s commitment to empowering women in aviation is a beacon of hope and motivation, creating a supportive bookclub network where we can learn, grow and inspire one another.
This influence led me to sponsor three young women in Mexico, introducing them to the wonders of Aviation. This experience has been incredibly rewarding and I hope it inspires other women to pursue their aviation dreams as well.
I‘m honored to be part of this community of aviatrices and look forward to many more years of sharing stories, experiences and the joy of flight. “

“The Literary Aviatrix community has been one of the most meaningful writing homes I’ve known. The way you champion women’s aviation stories—past and present—has created a place where our experiences are seen, honored, and kept alive for new generations. I’ve learned so much about the broad shoulders my career stands on, and I’ve learned from the experiences and wisdom of my fellow authors. I’m deeply grateful for the curiosity, enthusiasm, and heart you bring to this work.
Congratulations, Liz, on five extraordinary years. This is a unique and remarkable community.”

“Congratulations to Liz Booker on the 5th Anniversary of her Aviatrix Book Club. She brings intelligence, heart, and humor to her book discussions and author interviews. I was honored to be featured on her Literary Aviatrix Book Club podcast in July 2025 to discuss my award-winning novel, She Soars: Trailblazing Female Pilots in Florida. Her book club and podcast help to share the amazing, often unknown stories about the achievements of women in aviation.
Thank you, Liz!!”

“Congrats on 5 YEARS!!! You are such a champion of the community and I 100% would not be pursuing dreams within this space without you. You lift us ALL up and I am so very thankful for all you do! Cheers to the next five!!”

“In a world where authenticity really matters to me, Liz Booker stands out. She has pursued the art of storytelling, carving out a niche where women who fly are not just relegated to the dusty pages of history, but rather life, their real life adventures pulsate on the page. The meteoric rise, or steady climb of women who dare to fly is celebrated through her book reviews, online forums and her attention to the breathtaking moxy that it takes to write, or to fly, or to do both, just as she has done.
Liz celebrated my historical novel, A Pair of Wings, based on the life of pioneer aviatrix Bessie Coleman, when we first launched. I will never forget Liz’s celebration of Bessie Coleman’s lionheart journey!!!
Happy five year anniversary!!!!!✨ BRAVA Liz!!!!!!!!!!!!”

“It’s been a privilege to be a part of the Literary Aviatrix community. When my book LADY FLYER was chosen as a book club pick, I was honored. It was also a privilege to read other women aviation stories throughout the year and even meet several of these amazing female pilots. Thanks to Liz Booker for her dedication in bringing this community together by celebrating aviation history and recognizing current contributions. I’ve read so many wonderful aviation books over the past year. I’ve interviewed Susan Tate Ankeny (American Fly Girl) and Erin Murphy (Halfway Home) on my YouTube Channel. I did a book signing with Katherine Sharp Laddeck (The Women with Silver Wings), and I met Tammie Jo Shultz (Nerves of Steel), just for starters!”

“Today, I want to share a genuine note of gratitude. ❤️
Liz, while my writing journey began long before the launch, your support stepped in at the exact moment I needed it most — when the story left my hands and entered the world.
You offered clarity when the indie marketing maze felt overwhelming.
You shared your platform, your perspective, and your hard-earned wisdom with generosity and intention.
You reminded me that stories don’t stop at publication — they grow, they travel, and they connect because people like you choose to elevate them.
Your mentorship hasn’t been about chapters or edits — it’s been about visibility, messaging, reach, and believing White Lace and Combat Boots could be more than a launch moment… it could be a brand, a mission, a continued voice.
Thank you for:
✨ championing my work after the confetti settled
✨ guiding me through the world of indie promotion with a calm, steady hand
✨ opening doors and minds to a story that deserved to fly farther
Supporting an author isn’t just about getting a book written — it’s about helping it be seen once it is.
And you did that with heart, intention, and class.
With so much gratitude — thank you, Liz. 💜”

“As a children’s book author, I’ve taken a keen interest in women aviators and astronauts. It’s been my honor to interview dozens of women in the field and then share their incredible stories with the Literary Aviatrix community. This is a welcoming, nurturing group that I appreciate very much and am thrilled to be a part of.”

“Liz Booker’s Aviatrix Book Club and her interviews with authors help writers like me get their books in front of a new audience, which is such a gift! I’m an avid reader, too, so I love learning about books written by and about women pilots. I enjoy discovering the fascinating stories of accomplished and talented women, seeing what we have in common in our aviation lives and what experiences are utterly different from mine. Thank you for creating an incredible community, Liz!”
