The third in a series of interviews for Women’s History Month highlighting authors whose work features the women who flew for their countries during WWII, we delve into the individual story of a woman who flew for the WASP in the United States. In this interview, Nadine’s sister-in-law, Raqui Ramsey, and screenwriter, Tricia Aurand, talk about how they came together on a documentary about Raqui’s late husband, Ed Ramsey, who led the last U.S. Army Cavalry charge in U.S. history in the Phillipines during WWII. Tricia was intrigued by Nadine’s story, flying on the home front while Ed was behind enemy lines, and Raqui promised Ed she would tell his sister’s story, so the two worked together to write and publish Taking Flight: The Nadine Ramsey Story, which they hope to bring to life in a documentary.
