Amy Goodpaster Strebe is an accomplished journalist and historian whose book Flying for Her Country: The American and Soviet Women Military Pilots of World War II was the first comparative study on these two groups of women. Written as her master’s thesis, this work served as her introduction into the WASP and Russian Women Pilots communities, with and for whom she has participated in many events since, including their Congressional Gold Medal ceremony in 2010.
